- You may enter the name you are searching in any order. For example, William Tanner can be entered as William Tanner or Tanner William.

- You do not have to enter a last name and first name. If you choose, you can enter a last name only; but be aware of the large amount of search results that may be returned. You may also enter the first name only.

- Do not enter partial characters. For example, if you enter BRO, it will not find Brown, Brothers, Broward, etc. There is NO expansion on the terms.

- If you wish to include a middle initial or middle name, it can be entered with the name in any order. However, be aware that the middle initial will not expand to a full middle name. For example, if you enter William A Tanner it will not find William Avery Tanner.

- When searching hyphenated names, either enter the hyphen in the appropriate place or enter the two names without a space.

- You may search by suffix or titles. (i.e. JR, SR, III, etc.) For example, William Tanner III will only find matches with all three terms, William Tanner III, in your results.

- If you search by company name, spelling variations of common corporate endings will be searched automatically. For example, Corp is a common corporate ending. Therefore, a search of Tennis Racquet Corp will find matches on Tennis Racquet Corp, Tennis Racquet Corporate, Tennis Racquet Corporation.

- You do not have to enter periods or commas. Periods and commas are stripped from a search when entered.

- You may enter information in any of the fields in any combination. Enter information in one or more fields provided.

- State selection: Choose the Multi-State option to search all available jurisdictions if you do not know which state to select. Check the Coverage Area section to determine the jurisdictions included in each of these databases.
